Lifeguard Training 2012
Our 2012 lifeguard class is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, March 13, 2011. We
will meet at the Carl Sandburg Middle school at 7:00 PM. The first 1/2 of
every class will take place in a classroom the second part will be in the pool.
The class will continue to meet on Tuesday evenings until approximately May 15.
The cost should be around $180.00.
The Red Cross has changed much of the format for this class-including cost.
Exact price will be posted in February At the end of the course you will be
certified in lifeguarding, first aid and CPR/PR. Class dates are March
13,20,27,
April 3,10, 17 ,24 May 1,8,and possibly 15. Candidates MUST plan to attend
all classes ( You are allowed one (1) absence) With the second absence you
will be removed from the class and no refund will be issued. You cannot pass.
Prior to the course you will have to present yourself at the pool to take a
swimming test. It is a 300 yard swim (12 lengths of our pool ) plus a water
treading demonstration.. Everyone must take this test! .

I realize that lifeguard classes will be held on March 13,
20,27, April 3,10,17,24 May 1,8,,and possibly 15 . It is my responsibility
to attend all classes. I am allowed one absence.
Should I miss 2 classes I realize I cannot legally pass and forfeit the right to any

WSI
Our Water Safety Instructor's Course (WSI) is scheduled to begin on Thursday,
March 8 at 7:00 PM . The course is taught at the Carl Sandburg Middle school .
It consists of 7or 8 - three hour sessions (7:00 to 10:00) We will
meet every Thursday evening with the exception of April 5 . The cost
will be about $180.00. More details will be available in February. Please feel
